In 2014, John was on the cutting edge of hydrogen-fueling infrastructure in California, working directly with Toyota and Honda corporate to identify locations for new stations. In the first major submittal to the California Energy Commission, 27 sites were submitted for approval—of those, 19 of John’s sites were awarded (the maximum allotted to any developer). Often referred to as the “secret weapon,” John remains the leader in submissions with over 100 executed leases and 55 open sites. He is responsible for 70% of hydrogen-fueling stations open today—more than any other developer, company, entity, or person in the industry.
